Leslie J. "Les" Hamder

October 12, 1937 - June 7, 2008

 
Leslie Joseph "Les" Hamder, age 70 of Kaufman Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 4:20 a.m. following and illness.

Born October 12, 1937 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late John J. Hamder and the late Catherine Izzo Hamder.

Mr. Hamder was a retired skilled laborer for Standard Bent Glass. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Hamder was a veteran of the U. S. Navy during the Lebanon crisis. He was a member of the SOI of Butler, had formerly worked at American Hardware in the receiving and the logistics department for 15 years. Recently he had worked at the Butler VA Medical Center in the housekeeping department. Mr. Hamder attended Butler High School.

Mr. Hamder is survived by his sister, Mrs. Carol Ann Mashuda of Butler, Pennsylvania; his brother, Richard Hamder of Butler, Pennsylvania; one son, one daughter, three grandchildren, and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hamder was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers.

Family visitation will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
