Reynold A. Keck

March 30, 1915 - April 21, 2008

Reynold A. Keck, age 93 of North Monroe Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, April 21, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at his residence.

Born March 30, 1915 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late F. J. Keck and the late Alma Shearer Keck.

Mr. Keck was a Metallurgist and Supervisor for Armco retiring in 1980 after 45 years of service. He was also the past President of the Armco Credit Union. Mr. Keck was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served on church council and was an usher for several years. He was a graduate of Butler High School, class of 1934 and a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, class of 1941 and a member of the Alpha Chi Sigma Fraternity. Mr. Keck was past officer of the Century Club, he held several offices in the Esquire Club, member of the Saxonburg VFD, a life member of the Butler Elks #170, a life member and a past Master (1955) of the Butler Lodge #272 F&AM, he was a life member of the Butler Royal Arch Chapter #273, a member of the Lorraine Commandery #87 Knights Templar, the A.A.S.R. (Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite) Valley of New Castle, Life member of the Syria Temple, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Caravan 14 of Butler, Butler Shrine Luncheon Club, Accia Club, and a past board member of the Armco Golf Club. Mr. Keck served on the Butler City Zoning and Hearing Board since the 1970's. Mr. Keck received a Plaque in 1993 from Mayor Marion Taylor for his many years of service. In 1996 Mr. Keck received the City of Butler True Citizen Award from Mayor Richard Schontz. He is also a member of AAA, AARP, director of the Butler Area Sports Hall of Fame, and a volunteer at the Butler Area Public Library. He also enjoyed Bingo at the Armco Vets Club.

Mr. Keck is survived by his wife, Martha T. Keck, one son and his wife, John R. and Debbie Keck of Butler, Pennsylvania; one grandchild, Emily Keck; and by two nephews.

Mr. Keck was preceded in death by two sisters, one niece, and two sister-in-laws.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.
