Dolores M. McDonald

Passed away on July 12, 2008

 
Dolores M. McDonald, of Artlee Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 3:53 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

Born in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late John H. McDowell and the late Helen Gibson.

Mrs. McDonald was a homemaker and a teacher at Bon-Aire Elementary School. She was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of the Slippery Rock State Teachers College now known as Slippery Rock University. Mrs. McDonald was a member of the P.S.E.A., the N.E.A., the PA Association for Gifted Education, the Tuesday Musical Club, the Business and Professional Club, the A.A.R.P. and Friends of the Library. Mrs. McDonald was active in many church choirs and vocal ensembles.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by her husband, Harold C. "Bus" McDonald whom she married on June 30, 1956, by one daughter, Rebecca S. McDonald of Manning, Iowa; one brother, John G. (Jack) McDowell of Butler, Pennsylvania; and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Howard Burrell of Christ Community United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion, Butler County Memorial Park.
