Charles W. Thompson, age 76 of
Morningside Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008
at 12:50 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, Pennsylvania.
Born June 2, 1932 in Butler,
Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Merle A. Thompson and the
late Wilda Dunbar Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was a retired sales
engineer of underground mining equiptment for Uniroyal, Ltd. He was
a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church. Mr. Thompson was a
member of the #694 Victory Lodge F & AM, the Syria Temple of
Pittsburgh (Shriners), Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of
New Castle, The American Legion, Post #117, and B.P.O.E #170. He
enjoyed golf, antiques and restoring furniture. Mr. Thompson was a
veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving in the Korean War.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife,
Nancy Huth Thompson whom he married on May 2, 1970, by two sons and
their wives, Robert C. and Kelli Thompson of Butler, Todd A. and
Linda Thompson of Bloomington, Indiana; six grandchildren, Erin
Thompson, of Florida, Spencer Thompson of Butler, Quinton C.
Thompson, of Indiana, Adrian J. Thompson, of Indiana, Ian R.
Thompson of Butler, Alexandra D. Thompson of Butler; brother-in-law
and his wife, Joseph and Joann Huth, II of Butler; two
sister-in-laws, Mary Alice Thompson, of Ohio, Margaret (Huth) and
her husband Doug Meeker, of Ohio; and by seven nieces and nephews.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by
one brother, David A. Thompson.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania on Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 7 to 9 and Friday, June
6, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson
- Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 10:30 a.m.
with Reverend John Porter and Reverend Clark Sawyer of Hill United
Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in North Side
Cemetery.

Officers and members of Victory Lodge
#694 F & A.M. will assemble at the funeral home to conduct a Masonic
Service on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 6:45 p.m.
Graveside Military services will be
conducted by the V.F.W. Post #249. |
