Howard F. Undercuffler

July 16, 1920 - July 10, 2008

Howard F. Undercuffler, age 87, of Chicora Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 1:40 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born July 16, 1920 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William Sullivan and Margaret Elizabeth McKinney Undercuffler.

He was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church.

Mr. Undercuffler worked as a ward attendant and in the pharmacy, kitchen and maintenance departments for the Butler V.A. Medical Center for 31 years and 8 months. He retired in November 1979. Mr. Undercuffler was in the United States Army during WWII and served in the South Pacific. He was a member of the V.F.W. #249.

Mr. Undercuffler is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Esther Pauline) Bauchman of Butler, Pennsylvania; four sons, Howard Francis Undercuffler, Jr. and his wife, Beverly, of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, Robert Edward Undercuffler and his wife, Deborah, of Sommerville, Pennsylvania, David Bennett Undercuffler and Frank William Undercuffler and his wife, Donna, both of Butler, Pennsylvania; 17 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; and by one brother, George Henry Undercuffler of Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Undercuffler was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Margaret Logan Undercuffler, who was deceased March 29, 2000 and by three brothers.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 12, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Steve Fisher, pastor of New Testament Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
