Elizabeth Jean Youkers

July 25, 1923 - July 14, 2008

 

Elizabeth Jean Youkers, age 84 of Sunnyview Nursing Home, formerly of Victor Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, July 14, 2008 at 10:03 a.m. in the Sunnyview Home. 

Born July 25, 1923 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late John Banford Bowser and the late Margaret Finnell. 

Mrs. Youkers was a homemaker. She was an avid card player, a huge bingo player, mostly playing at Highfield Hall.  She also enjoyed going to the casinos and playing the slots. 

Mrs. Youkers is survived by one son, Ralph Youkers, two daughters, Mrs. Terry (Linda Jean) Shanor and Mrs. Dean (Margaret Ann) Slagle all of Butler, Pennsylvania; by twelve grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. 

Mrs. Youkers was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Charles Youkers who passed away on June 7, 1996 and by one son Larry Albert Youkers, two brothers and one sister. 

Private services were held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. with Reverend Dr. Robert Peterson of St. John's Reformed Church officiating.  Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. 

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hereditary Pancreatitis Research- Dr. Whitcomb, UPMC, 200 Lothrop Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15213.
