Anna Belle Geyer

Anna Belle Geyer, age 94, of 307 Spruce Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 11:11 p.m. at her residence.

Born June 2, 1915 in East Brady, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late W. W. Barnhart and Nora Emminger Barnhart.

Mrs. Geyer was a member of First United Methodist Church. For years she volunteered in the church's office, assisting with administrative duties. She also served a a teacher's aide in various schools in Butler. Mrs. Geyer was a chaperone at the YWCA Friday night dances. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Geyer is survived by her daughter, Marcia Gray, and her husband, Elliott of Salisbury, Maryland; a son, George David Geyer, and his wife, Pat, of Sebastian, Florida; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two great great- grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Geyer was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Geyer, who passed away in May 1982.

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to VNA Hospice, Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
