Maurice E. Abbott, of Hidden Meadows
Circle, Renfrew, Pennsylvania, died Monday, April 12, 2010 at 10:50
a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Tamworth, New Hampshire, he was
the son of the late William D. Abbott and Alta Nickerson Abbott.
Mr. Abbott was a member of Meridian
Vets Club. He attended Kennett High School in Conway, New Hampshire.
He was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where he
earned a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a pilot
in the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he held the rank of Second
Lieutenant, serving during wartime at various Air Force bases in the
United States.
Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife,
Dorothy J. Abbott, whom he married on May 12, 1951; one son, Steven
W. Abbott of Cary, North Carolina; one daughter, Hollis L. Chepponis
of Valencia, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Jaclyn Chepponis of
Valencia; and one grandson,Tyler Chepponis of Valencia.
Private services are being held at
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. at the family's convenience.
Interment will follow in Chocorua Cemetery, Chocorua, New Hampshire.
