Hyman T. Abes, age 95,
of Encinitas, California, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at 9:24 a.m. in
the Seacrest Village in Encinitas, California.
Born November 15, 1915 in Butler,
Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Morris Abes and Eva Gelman
Abes.
Mr. Abes was a member of the
Congregation B'Nai Abraham and a member of the B'Nai Brith. He owned
and operated the Cutaway Meat Market in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Abes is survived by one daughter,
Holly Abes of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; one son, Mark Abes of
Carlsbad, California; three grandchildren, Jillian Abes, Meryl
Meranski and Joel Meranski.
Mr. Abes was preceded in death by his
wife, Reva Maglin Abes, who passed away on January 11, 1997, and
also by two sisters and two brothers.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 1 to 2 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson
- Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
with Cantor Gary Gelendar of Congregation B'Nai Abraham officiating.
Interment will follow in Congregation B'Nai Abraham Cemetery.
