Edward C. Albert

Edward C. Albert, age 65, beloved husband, father, and pappy, died peacefully at his home on Windy Drive, Center Township, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, April 6, 2010.

Born October 12, 1944 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of Carl Albert and the late Clara Berry Albert.

Mr. Albert's family remembers his love and dedication to his beloved wife of 43 years, Karen, his children and his grandchildren. Edward was a double lung transplant recipient due to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis since July 2001. Edward worked in the Hot Mill Department at AK Steel, retiring in 1998 after 30 years. He loved to play bocce ball, and he and Karen enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Florida with family and friends.

Mr. Albert leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Karen L. Albert, whom he married on April 15, 1967; two sons, Scott and his wife, Miriam Albert of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and Shawn Albert of Daytona Beach, Florida; his brother, Ronald and his wife, Linda Albert of Plantation, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Meri Albert of Ormond Beach; three grandchildren, Abbie Albert, Emma Albert, and Mateo Albert; his father, Carl Albert of Plantation, Florida; three sisters-in-law and husbands, two brothers-in-law and wives; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, April 9, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

A blessing service for Edward C. Albert will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Steve Neff of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to VNA Inpatient Hospice Care 154 Hindman Road, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 or to the Butler Area Public Library 218 North McKean Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
