Alma L. Anderson, 93, of Butler died at
Butler Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, June 29, 2010.
Born in Emlenton, Pennsylvania
January. 13, 1917, she was the daughter of Clark E. and Mary Webster
Karnes.
She was the youngest of four children
and was preceded in death by brothers Arnold, Wayne and Jerry.
Alma worked as a waitress at King's
Restaurant and Frew's Restaurant in Butler for a short time and then
at Shop N Save at the North Main St. Extension for several years.
She also had a ceramic shop in Lyndora where she sold ceramics and
taught classes.
She is survived by a son, Grahel
Gannon and his wife, Linda and a daughter, Judy Scott Rhodaberger
and her husband, Kenneth. Grandchildren are Shanda Renick, Quentin
Scott, and Kristopher Rhodaberger, Laurel Mitchell and Rachel
Singer. Great grandchildren are Zacharri Renick, Sara Archer and
Alexis Hufelton and a great, great grandson Skylar Renick.
She is also survived by a
stepbrother, Burdette Karnes and his wife Maryanne and two
stepsisters, Dolores Rice and Maxine Wray.
Also surviving is a niece, Joyce
Chambers of Maryland, whom she was quite close to and other nieces
and nephews.
Her first husband, Grahel Gannon Sr.
died in 1979 and her second husband, Owen Anderson died in 2003.
Friends will be received at The
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania 16001 on Friday July 2, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will follow at 8:00
P.M. with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Marks Evangelical
Lutheran Church officiating.
Entombment will take place in the
Chapel of All Faiths Mausoleum in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mt.
Chestnut. |
