Irene J. Baxter, age 79, of Pinewood Lane,
Butler, Pennsylvania passed away Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 1:36
a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on January 9,1930, she was the
daughter of the late Clifford Lynn and Myrtle Hunt Lynn.
Mrs. Baxter was a member of Trinity Lutheran
Church. In her earlier years she was employed by Davy and Hilliard
Drug Store in Butler, and was a homemaker in her later years. She
also enjoyed bowling with friends. She was the ultimate caregiver.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth J.
Baxter, whom she married on February 19,1959; one son, Scott Baxter
of East Butler; three sisters, Marie Philips of Butler, Joann
Biernesser of Glenshaw, and Helen Thomas of Vancouver, Washington;
and one brother, Arthur Lynn of Butler. Many nieces, nephews, great
nieces and great nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by three brothers;
Ellwynn, Donald, and Howard Lynn; and two sisters, Florence Bellis
and Dorothy Robb.
In respect of Irene's wishes, private family
visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Thompson-Miller
Funeral Home, Inc.
Public funeral services will be from Trinity
Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. with
Vicar Scott Schul and Reverend Thomas M. Pierotti of Trinity
Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County
Memorial Park. |
