A Life Remembered . . .
Barbara L. Crawford Beggs

May 4, 1942 ~ October 4, 2009

Barbara L. Crawford Beggs, 67, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 in the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot, Pennsylvania after a courageous three and a half year battle with ovarian cancer. She was the devoted and dearly loved mother of three sons, Timothy and his wife, Lori, and granddaughter, Sarah; Daniel and his wife, Christina, and granddaughter, Lauren -- all of the Butler area; and Mark E. Beggs of Montgomery, Alabama.

Barbara was the daughter of the late J. Delmar and Kaethe Strothman Crawford. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Crawford Frey Gillespie of Sewickley, and her brother, James D. Crawford and his wife, Peggy, of Fort Myers, Florida. Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews and many supportive, helpful, and loving friends of long years.

Barbara was a past member of Butler County Mounted Sheriff's Posse, past member of Butler County Soccer Organization, past member of Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels, and a present member of Sandycreek Conservancy Inc. of Franklin, Pennsylvania. Ms. Beggs was a graduate of Perry High School in Pittsburgh, and she also attended Butler County Community College.

Barbara was a wholesale florist supply sales representative for Keystone Ribbon & Floral Supply of Pittsburgh, retiring in 2008.

She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Butler, Pennsylvania.

We will always remember and honor Barby's cheerfulness and sense of humor, her devotion to her family and friends, her deep love of the outdoors -- gardening of lovely flowers and wonderful homegrown vegetables, her gift for creating magnificent needlework, the great joy she found in cooking and baking for those she loved, and especially for always creating a cozy, welcoming home. A truly, loving heart and soul has returned home to God -- all of us remaining here will never be able to fill the void.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, October 9, 2009 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Services will be held at First English Lutheran Church at 12 noon on Saturday, October 10, 2009 with Pastor James Dollhopf officiating.
