Festus P. Cotten, Jr., age 81, of
Trailwood Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, January 22, 2010
at 8:45 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, Pennsylvania
16023. Born August 7, 1928 in
Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Festus P. Cotten,
Sr. and Nellie Sager Cotten.
Mr. Cotten, Jr. was a truck driver
for AK (Armco) Steel. Mr. Cotten was a member of Christ Community
United Methodist Church. He retired in 1989 after over thirty years
as a truck driver for Butler ARMCO. He was a veteran of the United
States Army with the 5th Infantry, serving during the Korean War. He
was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and three Bronze
Campaign Stars. Mr. Cotten is survived by his wife, Minnie Etta
Kaufold Cotten.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Cotten
is survived by his son, Rev. Ralph Cotten and his wife, Rev. Lori
Cotten of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania; his daughter, Marcy Cotten
Moody of Butler; four grandchildren, Sheldon Cotten, Bronwyn
Farinelli and her husband, Anthony, Megan Moody, and Chuck Moody;
one great-grandchild, Riley Moody; two brothers, Earl Cotten of
Butler; and Harry Cotten and his wife, Sandy of Butler; two sisters,
Grace Johnson of Montgomery, Alabama, and Dolly Oertel of Butler.
He was preceded in death by two sons,
one daughter, two brothers, and one sister.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania on Monday, January 25, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson
- Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 11:00
a.m. with Rev. Howard Burrell of Christ Community United Methodist
Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial
Estates.
