Ruth L. Dietrich Age 94, of Orchard Manor Nursing Home Grove City, Pennsylvania. formerly of East Penn St. Butler, Pennsylvania ,passed away Wednesday June 2, 2010 at 4:45 p.m. in the Orchard Manor Nursing Home.

Born November 23,1915, in Omaha, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius Martin and Florence Hilton Rice.

She was a homemaker, private piano and organ teacher. She was a member of the Christian Endeavor movement since the 1930's and served many years as the missionary superintendent in CE. She was pianist and organist, as well as Sunday school teacher in her church, the former Bethany United Church of Christ. She was also a member of AARP. Ruth also served for many years as PTA president at Emily Brittain Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Leroy Dietrich who died September 8,1989 two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by three sons: Vernon Lee Dietrich of Peninsula, Ohio, Kenneth E. Dietrich and his wife JoAnn of Greenville, Pennsylvania, and Norman G. Dietrich and his wife Jane of Hudson, Ohio, two daughters: Mrs. J. Edgar (Elaine) Rynd of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Jonathan (Joyce) Stehle of Port Allegheny, Pennsylvania and nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Friends and family of Ruth L. Dietrich will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday June 4,2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral Services will be from the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday June 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Ishler pastor of the former Bethany United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundations of Pennsylvania, Landmarks Building, 100 West Station Square Drive, Ste. 315, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15219 or to the American Heart Association of Western Pennsylvania, 777 Penn Center Blvd., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15235.
