Thomas J. Duggan, 78
of Meridian beloved husband, father and grandfather died
Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with his wife by his side.
Born July 21, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York
he was the son of the late Charles and the late Marion Aylward
Duggan.
Mr. Duggan was a Land Surveyor for
over 40 years. He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church.
He was a volunteer for Bellmore Fire Dept. for over 25 years. He was
an active volunteer for the St. Fidelis Church fish fry. He enjoyed
being with family and having dinner with friends. Mr. Duggan also
enjoyed swimming, gardening, reading, sports, fishing, hiking with
family at Letchworth State Park in N.Y., watching the grandchildren
grow. Mr. Duggan was a Corporal in the United States Army 1st
Infantry serving in Germany.
Mr. Duggan is survived by his wife of
50 years, Lois whom he married on May 14, 1960. By one son, Thomas
W. Duggan and his wife Barbara of Butler; two daughters, Tracey
Nevel and her husband Tom of Meridian, and Linda Harris and her
husband Michael of Bradford Woods, six grandchildren, Meghan and
Matthew Duggan, Marissa, Matthew, and Michael Harris; Jennifer Nevel.
Mr. Duggan was preceded in death by
one brother and one sister.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania on Friday, June 4, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church on Saturday,
June 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend George Palick of St.
Fidelis Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in
Calvary Cemetery.
