Roy T. Hyatt, age 89, formerly of Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania, a
resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at
4:10 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.Born May 12, 1920 in
Barren Springs, Virginia, he was the son of the late John T. Hyatt
and Gertrude E. Martin Hyatt.
Mr. Hyatt had been a machinist fitter at Zimmerman & Jansen
Company in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the U.S.
Navy, serving in World War II; and he was a member of Elks Lodge
#932 in Etna, Pennsylvania. Mr. Hyatt was a protestant by faith.
Mr. Hyatt is survived by his wife, Ruth Hyatt, whom he married on
July 30, 1940; four sons, John and his wife, Pauline Hyatt of
Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania; Doug Hyatt of Pennsylvania; Denver and his
wife, Camille Hyatt of Monroeville, Pennsylvania; Keith and his
wife, Linda Hyatt of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania; two daughters,
Ruby Dann of Titusville, Florida; and Debbie Foor of Quantico,
Virginia; twenty grandchildren; several great grandchildren, several
great great-grandchildren; one sister, Toni, and her husband, Ernie
Clough of Florida; one brother, George Hyatt of Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hyatt was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
At the family's request, there will be no public visitation
Funeral services will be held at the Lakewood Memorial Park, 943
Route 910, Cheswick, Pennsylvania 15024 on Friday, January 22, 2010
at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Harris of Trinity Presbyterian Church
officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
