Beulah Grace Kerestes,
age 98 of Lincolnton, North Carolina, formerly of Carbon Street,
Butler, Pennsylvania, died June 22, 2010 at 6:45 a.m. in the Levine
Dixon Hospice in Huntersville, North Carolina.
Born February 4, 1912 in Reynoldsville,
Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Albert E. Wayland and
Mary Mae (Hadden) Wayland.
Mrs. Kerestes was a homemaker. She
had also been employed at Sylvania Electric Products. Mrs. Kerestes
has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1946. She enjoyed
crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting and other handiwork.
Mrs. Kerestes is survived by five
daughters, Janet and her husband William of Alvey of Lincolnton,
North Carolina with whom she made her home since October, Judy and
her husband William Warhola of Westminster, Colorado, Linda and her
husband Joseph Varos of Sarasota, Florida, Avanell and her husband
Lee Mock of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, Mary Ellen and her husband
William Thomas of Pembroke, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren, fifteen
great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, four sisters,
Edna Jones of DuBois, Pennsylvania, Mary Ruth Larimer of Luthersburg,,
Pennsylvania, Helen Heist of Stuart, Florida, and Catherine Ament of
Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania and also by a number of nieces and
nephews.
Mrs. Kerestes was preceded in death
by her first husband, Edward Yonker who passed away in 1935, and
also by her second husband, John D. Kerestes who she married in 1943
and passed away October 15, 1968. She was also preceded in death by
one son, Charles Yonker, one sister, Velma Broker and one brother,
Robert Wayland.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania, on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Trinity
Lutheran Church on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend
Thomas M. Pierotti and Vicar Scott Schul of Trinity Lutheran Church
officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
