William G. "Bill" McKinney

William G."Bill" McKinney, age 92, of Butler, Pennsylvania, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 2:25 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born September 19, 1917 in West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George S. McKinney and Anna Belle Christie McKinney.

Mr. McKinney was an Operator and Furnace Tender in the Anneal and Pickling Department for Armco Steel, retiring in January 1980 after 36 years of service. Mr. McKinney was a member of First Baptist Church of Butler, where he belonged to the Berean Adult Sunday School Class. He belonged to the Armco Veterans Club, National Rifle Association, Pistol and Rifle Association, and the North American Hunting Club.

Mr. McKinney is survived by his beloved wife, Helen G. (Davis) McKinney, whom he married on April 8, 1951; two brothers, Fred L. McKinney of Boydstown, Pennsylvania and Donald E. McKinney of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews, and the shared daughters of his life long friend the late John Nichols; Debbie (Sam) Broad, Delores (Dennis) Rood, and Judy (Ron) Hemphill.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Maitland of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
