Helen R. Oesterling

 

Helen R. Oesterling of Lowrie House, formerly of West North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at 5:30 a.m. in the Lowrie House.

Born in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Homer C. Rider and Lauretta McCandless Rider.

Mrs. Oesterling was a Homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Oesterling was a former member of the Eastern Star and several Bridge Clubs.

Mrs. Oesterling is survived by one daughter, Carol Miller of Clearspring, Maryland; one son, Alan Oesterling and his wife, Penny of Etowah, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Melinda Marquess and her husband, Wayne; and their children, Reuben and Leanna; two grandsons, Jason Oesterling and his wife, Janeen, and their children, Caden, Luke, and Elijah; and Craig Oesterling and his wife, Sarah; and by several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her Yorkie dog, Chester.

Mrs. Oesterling was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Oesterling, who passed away on May 23, 1999, and also by one sister, Lynda Gagne, and one brother Sherman L. Rider. Also preceding her in death was her dog, Patches.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Ralph Storm of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
