Genevieve Marie Johns Rumbaugh, age 96,
formerly of North Chestnut Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died on
Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 10:00 p.m. in Sunnyview Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center of Butler.
Born on December 22, 1913 in Widnoon,
Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Johns and
Lillian Springer Johns.
Mrs. Rumbaugh was a homemaker, but
during World War II she assisted in the war effort by working at the
American Bantam Car Company in Butler. She belonged to the New
Testament Baptist Church of Butler, and she was a member of AARP.
Mrs. Rumbaugh is survived by her son,
Malverne C. "Mal" Rumbaugh and his wife, Nancy, of Butler; one
grandson, Clifford T. Rumbaugh of Butler; three great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rumbaugh was preceded in death
by her husband, Roy C. Rumbaugh, who passed away on March 28, 2000,
and one grandson and two brothers.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, January 22, 2010 at
9:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Fisher of New Testament Baptist Church
of Butler officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial
Estates.
