Ottilia Scott, age 91, of Concordia
Haven Apartments, Cabot, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, January 27,
2010 at 12:35 a.m. at her residence.
Born December 17, 1918 in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Edward Haerich and
Emma Budnik Haerich.
Mrs. Scott was a member of St. Luke
Lutheran Church in Cabot, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed Hawaiian music,
art, painting, creative writing, and reading. Mrs. Scott was a
professional musician of Hawaiian Music and did her own radio show
on KQV and WWSW radio stations in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She
traveled througout the USA with her own trio and then later with
Johnny Kaaihue and the Royal Hawaiians; she also wrote some of her
own music.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband
Walter B. Scott, whom she married on May 26, 1946; by three
daughters, Arlene Thomas of Coral Springs, Florida, and Holly Daum
of Leeper, Pennsylvania, and Malia Hoffstot of Palm City, Florida;
five grandchildren, Sharon Rooney Goodman of Coconut Creek, Florida,
Jennifer Thomas of Coral Springs, Florida, Lindsay Stockland of
Dingmas Ferry, Pennsylvania, Christy Hinkle of Lebanon,
Pennsylvania, and Kathleen Daum of Leeper, Pennsylvania; four great
grandchildren, Cameron Goodman, Morghan Goodman, Jayme Hinkle and
Codi Stockland.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by
one sister, Elsie Kucan.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania on Friday, January 29, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and
from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2010.
Services will be held at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at
2:00 p.m. with Pastor Barry Keurulainen of St. Luke Lutheran Church
officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Royal Cemetery,
Glenshaw, Pennsylvania.
