Erla Mae Sholtis, age 88, of Butler,
formerly of Beall Drive in Whitehall, Allegheny County, died on
October 27, 2009 at 2:45 a.m. at the Sunnyview Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center. Born
June 28, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Floyd E. Gregg and
Ida Mary Ditmore.
Mrs. Sholtis had been a salesperson
for Kaufmann's Department Store at South Hills Village in
Pittsburgh, retiring in 2005 after 18 years. Mrs. Sholtis had many
interests in her life and traveled extensively with her late husband
to many of his U.S. Navy reunions. She also enjoyed her family.
Mrs. Sholtis is survived by her son,
William T. Bennett and his wife, Marcia, of Butler; her daughter,
Nancy C. and her husband, Richard Bowser of Lorain, Ohio; four
grandchildren, Colby Smith of Wexford, Carrie Minton of Butler,
Kenneth Bowser and Kevin Bowser of Lorain, Ohio; four great
grandchildren, Dustin Byerly of Montplier, Vermont, Cayce Smith of
Wexford, Carly Porter of State College, and Bennett Porter of
Butler; two brothers, Charles R. Gregg and Larry E. Gregg of Butler;
and six nieces, five nephews, and two great great grandsons.
In addition to her parents, Mrs.
Sholtis was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Sholtis, who
passed away in June 2002.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, October 29 at 4:00
p.m. with Reverend Merry H. Meloy of St. Andrews United Presbyterian
Church officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial
Cemetery. |
