William Elmer "Bill" Snyder, age 85, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died
Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 3:15 p.m. in the Butler VA Medical
Center. Born December 8, 1924 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the
son of the late Elva Snyder and Rachel McGeary Snyder.
Mr. Snyder worked in the Substation Maintenance Department for
Armco retiring in 1987. He was a member of the North Street
Christian Church. Mr. Snyder was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving
in the Pacific Camp during World War II. He enjoyed bowling, racing
and the NFL.
Mr. Snyder is survived by his wife, Marilyn Snyder, whom he
married on August 16 1952; three sons, Kevin Snyder of Chicora,
Pennsylvania, Craig Snyder of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Kirk Snyder
of Butler, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Lynn and her husband Roy
Deal, Jr. of Butler, Pennsylvania, Chris and her husband Louis
Hernandez of North Hollywood, California, and Lisa and her husband
Michael Venditto of Glen Burnie, Maryland; nine grandchildren, three
great grandchildren, one sister, Rachel and her husband, Harry
Rumbaugh of Butler, Pennsylvania, and by a number of nieces and
nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home,
Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, May 2,
2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home on
Monday, May 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Huber of North
Street Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler
County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North
Street Christian Church, 220 West North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania
16001.
Officers and members of the American Legion Post #778 Lyndora and
the VFW Post #249 will conduct military services at Butler County
Memorial Park. |
