Robert O. Solkovy, Sr., age 85, formerly
of Linsdale Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died October 21, 2009 at
2:20 p.m at Orchard Manor, Grove City, Pennsylvania .
Born January 13, 1924 in Aliquippa,
Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Albert Solkovy and Ida
Laglar Solkovy.
Mr. Solkovy Sr. attended St. Fidelis
Catholic Church. He was a certified public accountant, and owner of
R.O. Solkovy and Associates, retiring April 15, 2003. Mr. Solkovy
was a veteran of the U.S. Army 17th Airborne Paratroopers serving in
World War II.
Mr. Solkovy Sr. is survived by his
son, Robert O.Solkovy, Jr. and his wife Terri, of Butler,
Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Shauna Christine McChesney and her
husband, Ben, of Butler, Pennsylvania; and Melissa Erin Solkovy of
Butler, Pennsylvania; one sister, Mrs. James (Elise) Farland of
Monaca, Pennsylvania; one brother, Richard Solkovy, of Pennsylvania.
and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr Solkovy Sr. was preceded in death
by his wife, Martha (Heuler) Solkovy, who passed away June 7, 2009,
and one son, John K. Solkovy, one sister, and one brother.
Friends will be received at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler,
Pennsylvania on Monday, October 26, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday,
October 27, 2009 from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at
12:00 noon with Dr. Robert C. Peterson of St. John's Reformed Church
officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Chapel of Devotion
Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.
