Clarence L. "Curly" Timblin

Clarence L. "Curly" Timblin, age 90 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at 9:12 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot, Pennsylvania.

Born December 10, 1919 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son the late Edward Timblin and Myrtle Thompson Timblin.

Mr. Timblin was a life member of Community Alliance Church and former Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee, and Governing Board member. He also was a member of the Church Choir. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army serving in the South Pacific. He retired from Butler Armco Steel Company after 42 years of service.

Mr. Timblin is survived by four daughters, Gloria and her husband Harry Frenchak of San Antonio, Texas, Sandra Amos of San Antonio, Texas, Kerry and her husband Roger Wells of Houston, Texas, and Konny Wellington of San Pablo, California; four sons, Randy and his wife, Patti Timblin of San Antonio, Texas, Rick and his wife, Diane Timblin of State College, Pennsylvania, Jim and his wife Jan Brys of Warren, Pennsylvania, and Ron and his wife Dorothy Brys of Austin, Texas; fifty-four grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Pearl VanScooten of South Pasadena, Florida and also by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Timblin was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam B. Timblin whom he married on November 12, 1971 and passed away on January 9, 2008 and two sisters and two brothers.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Community Alliance Church on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis L. Krajacic of Community Alliance Church officiating. Internment will follow in Mount Royal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Alliance Church Memorial Fund, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
