Our Staff 

William P. "Bill" Brown has been a part-time member of the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home since October of 2007.  After retiring in June 2008 after 33 years of teaching for the Butler Area School District as a Special Education teacher, Bill now has many behind-the-scenes duties and can be found greeting families and friends as they enter the funeral home.

 Bill resides in Butler with his wife, Justine.  They are the proud parents of 2 daughters, Maria and Catherine. Maria and her husband, Jose Cosme, were married in June 2008, and Catie is a senior Music Education major at Slippery Rock University.

 In his spare time, Bill enjoys golfing and tending to his garden.  He is an active member in his church, Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen in Meridian, where he is a cantor and sings in the church choir.  During the Christmas season, Bill can be found portraying Santa Claus at many community events.

Oshea - Our Newest Staff Member. 

The Thompson-Miller  Funeral Home in Butler has added a new staff member. Now, here's the tricky part. The new staff member is a dog.  Not just any dog. But a specially trained and licensed dog to help comfort those who are going through the emotional grieving process after losing a loved one

Oshea is her name. And, even if you've never had a dog of you own, you'd find Oshea accepting, loving and consoling. ..an unexpected level of comfort. Oshea is a highly trained companion who will help to ease your pain, it's really impossible to explain the psychological benefits this experience offers. Just her presence provides a soothing and comforting atmosphere. The entire process takes place right here at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home. And there is no charge for this unique service.
